Book 2 (Book 1: Shade)
Aura’s life is anything but easy. Her boyfriend, Logan, died, and his slides between ghost and shade have left her reeling. Aura knows he needs her now more than ever. She loves Logan, but she can’t deny her connection with the totally supportive, totally gorgeous Zachary. And she’s not sure that she wants to. Logan and Zachary will fight to be the one by her side, but Aura needs them both to uncover the mystery of her past-the mystery of the Shift. As Aura’s search uncovers new truths, she must decide whom to trust with her secrets…and her heart.
I really liked this book. I love the concept and the whole mystery and like the first book in this trilogy it was a really good read. In this book Aura seems to understand that a life with Logan as a ghost will be hard and that she must come to accept that he is dead so that she can move on in her life. For the most part she seems to do this however there are times when its hard for her to give up her first love. Zachary plays a much more involved role in this book. Aura and Zachary both toy with the idea of being a couple and by the end of the book a much satisfying conclusion to their relationship is found. Logan is still very much involved in the book and he has to deal with his transition for the dark world of being a Shade and dealing with Zachary and Aura’s romance. A lot of interesting events happen in this book for instance there is the whole mystery of how Logan was able to go back being a ghost when he was once a Shade (technically not a spoiler since it is in the novel summation). Also, the mystery behind Aura’s mother and father is revealed and the whole Shift phenomena is elaborated upon. Another detailed focused on is Aura’s ability to “help” ghosts and Zachary’s ability to keep ghost away. Overall this was a really good book and I would definitely recommend it.
The last book in the trilogy is called Shine and comes out summer 2012
